Ikari Warriors II: Victory Road

Ikari Warriors II: Victory Road is a 1988 NES action shooter where players control the titular warriors, Paul and Vince, who are sent thousands of years into the future by a mysterious storm to defeat the alien villain Zang Zip. The gameplay retains the original's controls and movement but adds a currency system of "hearts" to buy weapons and items from shops, destructible environments for hidden power-ups, and a new weapon called the boomerang. The game features vertical scrolling, cooperative play, and a variety of enemies and bosses, though it is considered challenging due to "one hit kill" mechanics.
